This guide is here to inform you how to set up PeerBlock to stop your computer from connecting to places you don't want it to.
What Is PeerBlock?
PeerBlock is a program that lets you control who your computer "talks to" on the Internet. By selecting appropriate lists of "known bad" computers, you can block communication with the following:
-Advertisement servers
-Spyware oriented servers
-Computers monitoring your p2p activities
-Computers which have been "h4c|<7d"
-Even entire countries!
They can't get in to your computer, and your computer won't try to send them anything either.
Where Do I Get PeerBlock?

How Can I Add Lists To Peer Block?
You can get lists from websites such as http://www.iblocklist.com/lists.php. Just get the link to a list you want and add it to your list manager by clicking "List Manager", clicking "Add", pasting in the url of the list and clicking ok after typing in a description.
How Do I Make My Own Lists & Add Them To PeerBlock?
There is a complete guide at http://www.peerblock.com/userguide/how_to_use/htu-creatinglists that will show you step by step how to do it. It's very easy.
Other Notes:
Most of you here will probably find this program more trouble then it's worth to use because it tends to block a lot of the normal websites/programs you visit/use because a lot of websites/programs have multiple connections from all over the place associated with them (ad servers, partners, security measures etc..). You CAN allow any ip you want directly from the PeerBlock Log either for 15mins, 1 hour or permanently. However, I advise against allowing permanently unless you really know what you are unblocking and what you're doing. I also suggest you read up on the way the internet works and how a lot of websites operate now. If you think you are safe when browsing the web, then you have no idea how much data is being collected about you without you even knowing or how many scripts are being run with the potential to do anything to your web browser/computer or how many different websites are connecting to you from just visiting 1 website. This includes social networking sites, messenger clients, game clients and even your email host. I run this program in conjunction with 3 Firefox add-ons and a real time Anti-Virus and I will never look back.
Imvu Relation
Now, me personally, I use this program to block connections to advertisement servers as well any anti-p2p/copyright protection agencies. However, this could possibly become a valuable tool in keeping our Imvu accounts safe from account linkage by Imvu and Bluecava.
If you don't know what Bluecava is, in simplest terms, it is a company that creates device fingerprints based on IP addresses, Flash cookies, HTML5 Local Storage and possibly others means. Imvu uses them to link accounts together so it knows which ones to ban if you break the TOS. I don't guarantee this will be full proof so don't install this and think you can do whatever you want on Imvu without consequences.
I am currently working on making a PeerBlock list of every ip I can find tied to bluecava in some way or another, I will upload that when I have it decently finished.
Ips I've collected so far:
lookup.bluecava.com - 93.184.216.119
bluecava.com - 184.106.94.211
bluecava.tv/bluecava.net - 216.21.239.197
register.com - 216.21.239.101
Domain info:
Bluecava.org is a domain controlled by four name servers at register.com. All four of them are on different IP networks. The primary name server is dns028.a.register.com. bluecava.org has one IP number (216.21.239.197) , but the reverse is futuresite.register.com.
Bluecava.net is a domain controlled by four name servers at register.com. All four of them are on different IP networks. The primary name server is dns026.a.register.com. bluecava.net has one IP number (216.21.239.197) , but the reverse is futuresite.register.com.
Bluecava.com is a domain controlled by six name servers at ultradns.info, ultradns.net, ultradns.org and ultradns.co.uk. Having a total of eight IP numbers. Two of them are on the same IP network. Incoming mail for bluecava.com is handled by two mail servers at emailsrvr.com. Both are on different IP networks. bluecava.com has one IP number (184.106.94.211) , but the reverse is 184-106-94-211.static.cloud-ips.com.
