This is some slightly old new but for those of you who aren't aware, IMVU has changed the way the shop works. You can no longer purchase products from creators who have been disabled for more than 30 days.

Read the full post by Varsha here: http://www.imvu.com/catalog/modules.php?op=modload&name=phpbb2&file=viewtopic.php&t=558846

I talked to Don about this change the other day. We both agreed that we kind of like it and also kind of don't.

I like it because:
-IMVU won't be making money off people they've wrongfully disabled by taking the credits earned from purchases.
-It helps legit developers. If a dev has had someone wrongfully derive their product or steal it and that person gets banned, the bad product will no longer be purchasable so the legit dev will be more likely to get sales.

I don't like it because:
-I can't purchased stuff from legit people who've been disabled years ago. A lot of the decent quality erotic artwork I've like is by disabled people.

"We want to ensure that if a product is broken and needs to be changed for any reason, the Creator of that product is available and active to make the change."

What exactly this bitch mean by creators? Meshers? How can I change my meshes if I can't enter in my accs?

What she means is that by preventing people from deriving from a disabled creator, they are more likely to derive from people who are still active and can provide support.

How they can provide support if they are just developers? What fuckin' support they can give without the original mesh?

They have the original mesh. The people I'm talking about are the original developers of a product.

Varsha is saying she hopes that this will make it so only developers who are active will have products available for deriving. So when someone does derive from them, it is more likely the they will get support from the dev if their is a problem.

Okay, but that's my problem, I gave the permission to many developers to let open their derivations, that's like steal my meshes, because they can use them as legit owner and earn a lot from derivations, damn... who is rl mafia then, us or them? That's totally unfair and make me so mad.

If you file a bunch of DMCAs and get all your products removed, that will defectively break all of the derive chain thus breaking all of the derived products created by those people.

i agree there are many good devs disabled actualy i always bought from them with way more nicer things that apear on a daily basics in shop

this is verry good imvu not proffiting on disabled accs anymore but it has ups and downs as always with imvu

yup true we should start filing dmca on all your products @ Axiom®

and another thing that came in my mind as an ideea about this lol
i know @ Axiom® is against this but still it is just an ideea
This also gives us an oportunity for another kind of market lol we have the tools to make it happen basicly what we can do is plunder good disabled products hide them in shop so nobody can buy them except those who know about the good disabled products market.
basicly we can bring back all those good products for a selective customer base for credits

just an ideea we dont have to really do it lol

The idea has crossed my mind several times over the years, but I do not see a way to morally do this. Maybe if the creator is dead ... but there is no way for us to tell that.
