We have all seen them, websites that promise to find our life partner: okCupid, Match, Ehamony, Zoosk, Chemistry, Singlesnet, Xprofile, Fuckbook, Badoo, MeetLoacals, Yahoo Personals, Fetlife, ALT
During the four months between my ex-wife leaving me and finding my current girlfriend, I tried them all, with full membership. I am going to break it to all of you right now before you have to find out for yourselves, they are all scams. For most of these sites, you will have to fill out pages of information / surveys so they can tell you who your "perfect match" is. They then sell this information to advertising companies and send you a list of poorly chosen matches (A few of these sites tried to match me with transsexuals and drug addicts [eharmony was the worst at doing this]). The only people you are allowed to contact on their site are your "matches", and 99% of the time your match's account has not been active for weeks. The occasional active match you are given will most likely never reply back to you because she is just as disappointed with the site as you are and is only still logging in to try to get her money back from customer support.
Xprofile, Fuckbook, yahoo personals, and Meetlocals seemed to be the odd sites out of these which actually let you contact locals rather than chosen matches; but all of the locals were bots trying to sell me things or were Christians protesting the sites (when you tried to contact them, they would respond with bible quotes and insults of being a sinning heathen).
Yahoo Personals was the only site above that let's you do anything decent as far as contacting other members without having to pay for a membership and without them being a "match", but they were still crap. Yahoo was just the best of the crap that was out there. I have bad news for you though; Yahoo got rid of yahoo personals and replaced it with a portal to other dating sites (Match & Chemistry).
Fetlife offers a decent environment for people looking for a kinky fetish relationship, but about 75% of their members are white males in the USA claiming to be well off with college educations. Most of fetlife is free. It is rampant with scammers though, trying to scam subs / doms through contracts and personal information, but if you are watching out for this kind of stuff, it can be a great place. Fetlife offers lists of local groups / events for your area, so it is also good for finding a local partner. Again, this is only a good site if you are into BSSM, you live in the USA, and you are not a white male (too much competition on the site for white males).
ALT is a decent free alternative to Fetlife if you are looking for a purely internet based fetish relationship.
Do not get me wrong, there are people who actually find partners on these sites, but those people are 1 in a million. Luckily, I found a few solutions for people looking for a decent normal relationship.
Solution 1:
Stick with romancing people who are already your friends and people on your normal social networking sites (IMVU, Facebook, Google+). Use our casual dating tips to help you flirt and get to know your friends better. This is how I found my current and all of my past girlfriends.
Solution 2:
If you are in or near a large city, Craig's List is great for finding a date or relationship or casual fuck buddy on short notice: craigslist.org Check out the personals section for your area. (They mainly support the US and Canada, but they also have sections for the rest of the world.) They are extremely popular with the gay community and once every few days you can even find some furries / subs / doms / special interest partners. About 50% of the population using Craig's list tends to be elderly or fake or lower standards material, but that still leaves the other 50% which is a lot better than being given a few crappy matches by other dating sites. This is also great for finding local women who you can meet in real life some day without traveling / moving 1,000 miles. (not that there is anything wrong with long distance relationships, but some people like it easy)
Alltournatives:
* Unpopular poor webcam models are easy targets. (webcam sites are very competitive and new girls on them are often left in the dust...very lonely)
* Specialty sites for people with mental disabilities and traumatic childhood experiences tend to make easy targets. (look past the disability)
* Stick to your studies till you can get rich and attract money whores who only love you for your wallet. Watch out though, they will leave you as soon as the find a richer man or sense you are about to loose your money.
* The sex chat channel for blizzard games (Warcraft / Starcraft) is good for a 1 night cyber. Sometimes…you might get someone who wants more if the sex is damn good and you are on often.
