The IMVU Mafias' / TIM Family cares deeply about your privacy. Therefore we only process data that we need to offer (and improve) our services and we handle the information we have collected about you and your use of our services very cautiously. We never make your data available to third parties for commercial purposes.
This privacy policy applies to the use of the website and the services provided by TIM. The starting date for the validity of these conditions is 08/21/2023. With the publication of a new version the validity of all previous versions expires. This Privacy Policy describes which personal data we collect, what this data is used for and with whom and under which conditions this data can possibly be shared with third parties.

We host our own propritary offshore web servers. The datacenter where we rent space is located within Northern Europe and specializes in providing high security server space for news organizations, political parties, and activist groups. All data going in and out of these servers is SSL encrypted to prevent interception by third parties. Physical access to the data stored on our servers is limited via hardware level encryption. Encrpytion keys are only available to root level accounts maintained by our offsite administrators. Backup servers are located offshore in an undisclosed location with identical security. All data is backed up via nightly SSL Encrypted data transfers.
We send our transactional emails (emails involving account updates and resets) via Sparkpost. Sparkpost will never use your name and e-mail address for its own purposes. Sparkpost reserves the right to use your data for the further improvement of the services and to share information with third parties in this context.
Monthly mailing lists, order notifications, and forum notifications are sent via our own mail server. We will never use these lists to advertise third parties, nor are these lists shared with third parties. We reserve the right to send you emails for TIM events, TIM news, and TIM branded product updates until you unsubscribe to our mailing lists as per the CAN-SPAM act. Unsubscribe links can be found at the bottom of every email we send. It make take up to 10 business days for unsubscribe requests to fully process. Unsubscribe requests result in our staff setting our mail server to skip your address when processing, and removing emails to your address from our spools and queues.

We only use your data for the benefit of our services. This means that the purpose of the processing is always directly related to the assignment you provide. We do not use your data for (targeted) marketing. If you share information with us and we use this information to contact you at a later date – other than at your request – we will explicitly ask your permission. Your information will not be shared with third parties, other than to comply with accounting and other administrative obligations. These third parties have all been kept confidential on the basis of the agreement between them and us or an oath or legal obligation.
Data that is automatically collected by our website is processed with the aim of further improving our services. This information (eg your IP address, web browser and operating system) is not personal data.
In cases of scamming, account hacking, and other destructive black hat activities, if you are found to be guilty by our administrators of using our systems to conduct such activities, your data will be shared with the victims 14 days after notification, for legal obligations. We shall carefully assess the individual circumstances and legal requirements for each investigation, from all involved parties. As TIM does not store financial data, we are not under obligation to share data with government tax investigations. TIM uses an open classifieds system to host products. Sellers are verified via training, vetting, and background checks. All TIM related financial data is stored and processed by third party payment gateways and digital neo banks, which we have zero control over. Absolutly no financial data is stored on our servers.
We keep your information as long as you are our client. This means that we keep your customer profile until you indicate that you no longer wish to use our services. If you indicate this to us, we will also consider this as a request to be forgotten. All public facing pages for your account will be redirected as if you never existed, and our users will no longer have access to your TIM profile. Your TIM username may be overwritten if you wish for your forum posts to no longer point towards your account.
At no time will we ever request your IMVU data. No IMVU data is stored on our servers. We request that you do not use your IMVU data during registration. Any IMVU usernames, passwords, etc ... found to be entered into our server will be immediatly deleted and you will be sent a warning to never enter such data into our site again. If delivery of a product or service involves an IMVU account, you will press a "use product" button on our site ... and it will simply send the product to whatever IMVU account your IMVU client is currently logged into, or you will give a gift code to your partner if the product is for them. This data will not be logged nor stored on our servers. If you private message your IMVU account name to another user on our forums, sent messages may be deleted via your TIM outbox. Deleted messages can no longer be read by the receiver.
The IMVU Mafias utilizes Cloudflare for DDOS protection, firewall, and security; layered on top of our own propritary security systems. All Data sent to Cloudflare is SSL end to end encrypted between both your computer and Cloudflare's server, and between Cloudflare's server and our own servers, to prevent intercetion between all networked nodes. On the basis of the applicable European legislation, you as a data subject have certain rights with regard to the personal data processed by or on behalf of us. We explain below which rights these are and how you can invoke these rights. In principle, in order to prevent abuse, we will send copies of your data only to your already known email address. In the event that you wish to receive the data at another email address, we will ask you to identify yourself. We keep records of completed requests, in the case of a request to be forgotten we administer anonymous data. You have the right to file a complaint with the Data Protection Authorities (DPAs) at any time if you suspect that we are using your personal data in the wrong way.

You can submit a request to that effect to our privacy contact person. You will receive a response to your request within 30 days. If your request is granted, we will send you a copy of all data with an overview of the processors who have this data, with the email address known to us, stating the category under which we have stored this data.
