So I was beginning to wonder about something regarding my IMVU account. A few years ago before IMVU required ID Verification for AP I was one of those people who was under age by like 2-3 years to actually get AP. So I may have been 15-17 years old at the time. Years later I wanted to try and get my account age verified, so I sent in a photocopy of my ID and I was about 19 years old at the time or so. I then thought wait this might not be a good idea considering they might see I'm not really my actually age compared to what it says on my Avatar. So eventually I got the news that IMVU had verified me without any trouble. I was pretty shocked. I thought this may have been because I was officially legal to actually have AP so it might have not been a big deal. Okay, now here's my main question. I kind of get annoyed that I'm 23 years old when really I'm 20 years old. Do you think if I filed a help ticket to CS that they would change my age to the proper one with no trouble? Or do you guys think that might be too risky and be a result of a permanent ban? Thanks!

To be honest, it probably depends on the CS rep you get. I can totally see IMVU banning you for an incorrect age but I can also see some CS reps changing it without issue.

If you choose to go through with it, I would tell them that you accidentally selected the wrong age when you created the account. And maybe say you just never noticed it was off till now since it is only a couple years off your real age.

Interesting thought. That totally makes sense though which probably explains maybe how I got my age verified in the first place. I also found one of the FAQ that regards the question and it states :
My IMVU age does not match my real age. Can I still do Age Verification?

However, please be reminded that deliberately misrepresenting your age (from minor to adult or from adult to minor) constitutes an offense in the IMVU Terms of Service If this was done in error and you want to have it corrected before verifying your age, please send us a support ticket (Help Center > Get Support) Select the category General Topics and then Age Verification Request. Please make sure to attach a valid, Government-issued ID (scan or picture) that will prove your age.

So yeah, I most likely might need to make up a story regarding this the best way I can if I indeed try to go for it.

Yeah, just pass it off as a clumsy mistake on your part. That's what I would try. Don Von would know better than I though.

Misrepresentation of age does break TOS in terms when crossing that legal threshhold. However that said, i have found that changing age because of security concerns IMVU has done. Like DM said it is a crap shoot as to who your help agent is.

And why in first place do you want to age verify when youve already got AP and correct your age? There are no benefits that i can see other than drawing attention to your account.

Well that's the thing. My account kind of attracts the attention of much older people than myself, which is really no problem to me don't get me wrong. I don't mind meeting older people, but to me it would kind of make me more comfortable that people actually know my actual age rather than not being my actual age. That's just me though.
